The role of design in communication has always intrigued me and I was thrilled at the opportunity to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication at St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore. Vis Comm, a specialisation under the broader Mass Communication domain, helped me develop a fine appreciation of design in areas such as graphics, layouts, photography and filmmaking. Over the 3-year curriculum, I’ve become proficient in the use of an entire range of design tools from Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and After Effects and have also gained practical exposure to aspects such as in-studio and on-location camera usage for still and video capture. In a world where visual communication will increasingly dominate user experience, I believe the judicious application of these principles can produce a significant competitive advantage for a business.
